Our intern, Shoshana, weighs in on Awkward Embraces – the new web obsession over at Moderation Town headquarters
Ever go on an extremely BAD date? Like uncomfortably shifting in your seat, why didn’t I plan an escape root, oh my g-d, why isn’t this date over bad? Well if you have, you can at least find comfort in the fact that you’re not alone. Awkward Embraces is a hilarious web series which follows three women through their amazingly twisted dating experiences, all completely based on their real life dating woes. But that is not the only reason why we love the show, so we bring you 5 reasons why we love Awkward Embraces (and why you’ll love it too). (more…)
Dear Moderator Jerks,
Bet you thought I lost this. Bet you thought I wouldn’t dare get on your YouTube channel or hack your website again. Well, I’ve got nothing to lose and you thought wrong.

Hey N00bs, exciting news over here at Moderation Town headquarters (aka, the back table at Burger King) – we’re officially on iTunes Canada! And we’re the first Canadian webseries to be in the iTunes store – TAKE THAT EPIC MEAL TIME!
For the low, low price of 7.99, you can buy Season One (plus additional outtakes) in HD – and we all know just how hunky Christian is in HD. Yowza. Of course, while you’re on your Moderation Town spending spree, you should probably head over to our merch store and pick up a mug or two, cos there’s nothing quite as satisfying as drinking a cup of hot cocoa out of your Alex LOL mug while obsessively watching season one outtakes. Trust me, I know. I’m doing it right now.

We asked one of Moderation Town’s writers, Stephan McLeod, to tell us all about the premiere screening of Hobo With a Shotgun
I’ve been afraid to walk the streets in my neighbourhood after seeing the hometown premiere of the Halifax-filmed Hobo With a Shotgun. The film opens with a brutal decapitation via a manhole cover I’ve probably walked by dozens of times. When Rutgar Hauer’s unnamed hobo decides to buy a shotgun instead of the lawnmower he always wanted, he’s in a pawn shop set in a building I walk by on my way to the beer store. And when some poor guy’s head explodes after being placed between two bumper cars, it’s at an amusement park I went to as a kid. The sense of dread I had with each gorey scene of this movie has now tainted my hometown with a nightmarish sensibility that makes me scared to go out at night in fear of insanely violent comic book characters. I think I’d be comforted if I was accompanied by a hobo, or at least a shotgun to protect me from the imaginary evils this movie has inserted into my psyche. (more…)

Jerk |jərk| noun: a contemptibly obnoxious person
Want to be the ultimate jerk on twitter, then do exactly what the critics state all tweeters do: be a self-involved douchebag.
ReTweet Compliments
Let everyone know that your best friend or significant other thinks you’re the bee’s knees. ReTweet that shit because 90% of your followers don’t know you in a real life and this is the ONLY way to demonstrate to them that not only do you have a social life, but that your IRL friends like you so much they’ll give you a virtual high five. And hey, if you don’t have any IRL friends, no worries – ReTweet the compliments all your internet friends give you. It’s called spreading the (self) love. Consider it like social-media-masturbation, cos it’ll make you feel good to stroke your…ego. (more…)

Stitch Media is in sunny Miami right now for the NATPE Market & Conference. In between attending seminars and buying expensive tuna sandwiches, we got a chance to pitch Moderation Town to a group of influential interactive agencies, broadcasters and publishers during the Digital Launch Pad. Moderation Town producer, Evan Jones impressed the judges with a pitch about the perils of internet moderation and managed to nab the Digital Launch Pad Award. Hooray!
